Changing lives and beaches, one bucketful at a time.

Beginning in May 2013, with help from Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful and the Solid Waste Authority, Diane Buhler adopted Palm Beach and began monthly cleanups along the island. She had been diving off this coast for decades. After moving here and seeing what washed ashore, she kept going back.

Friends of Palm Beach Inc. was founded in 2014. Since then the work has taken more than 180 tons of trash off these beaches.

The weekday program came from the same impulse. A cleanup that only happens once a month cannot keep up with the tide, and a job on that shoreline gives someone a place to show up and be kept on.
